Hello all,
I currently have an Google Adwords account and noticed that the ROI of one of my campaigns was dropping like crazy for the past couple of days. I did a quick search on Google, and noticed that the wrong creatives were being served for the keyword I was using.
Example: mens pants was showing an ad for mens t-shirts.
I called Google and asked them why this was happening, and this is the answer I got:
Hi (hidden)-
I spoke with our tech support team this morning, and they were able to point out that in this case, the "example A" ad is showing because the "example b" adgroup is reaching its campaign budget limit. So, because this campaign is spending up to its cap, when one of its ads would normally show, the system is forced to choose an alternative, so it shows an ad for the next best performing keyword in the account.
This particular time that you saw the " example A " ad showing, it was because the campaign that contained "example B" had maxed out, and the system picked the next-best term in the account (which was one from the example A).
If you'd like for this to stop happening, I'd suggest increasing the daily budget for this Campaign. Please let me know if this doesn't answer your question, or if there's anything else I can do to help!
Has anybody ever experienced anything in that nature?

Joey_Skulls,
I have had this happen to me too in the campaigns that I have managed or am currently managing. The way I understand what is happening is:
-More than likely your keywords are on broad match correct? If so, Google looks at your two adgroups/campaigns “mens shirts” and “mens pants” similarly; mens clothing.
-If the adgroup/campaign “mens shirts” reaches its daily budget, Google will start showing “mens pants” ads because it broadly is considered the same.
